The use of graphic elements can very useful when producing instructional designs.  Important information can be highlighted and brought to the forefront with color and size.  Spacing and boxing can be used to separate like groups of information.  Bullet points and numbering help show order.  ICONS add understanding and humor.

  1. It is often challenging to develop a visual scheme from scratch. There are many things to take into consideration such as color contrast and how the colors complement each other. I am thankful that there are so many default themes available for use. Take these blogs as an example. All that is needed if for us to select our theme of choice and it is applied automatically. Craigslist comes to mind with their simplistic and frankly dull appeal. I expect blogs would lose much of their appeal if the design must be custom designed by scratch. The internet would be much simpler and messier without these design tools.
